When choosing a location, we strongly recommend parking outside the course route for easier egress after the race. Also, because of the congestion, we suggest you are in your parking spot as early as possible as race crews will start to close streets beginning at 4:00 AM.
We work hard to ensure a pleasant parking experience for all participants. However, we cannot control all parking situations within the city of Detroit on race day! Many of the lots and garages available for parking are managed by individual staff and companies. Our best advice – the earlier you park, the better!
The People Mover
The Detroit People Mover will be in full operation on Friday to Saturday evening. Extended hours begin on Sunday at 5:00 AM. The closest stops to the Start/Finish Line is the Fort-Cass Station and COBO Center.
The cost is $.75 each way.
There will be multiple road closures downtown throughout the weekend and race day as we prepare the course. We strongly recommend early arrival on race day to ensure you don’t experience difficulties with our 4:00 AM closures for the course. To be safe, we suggest you park outside the course perimeter. Plan ahead!
- The Ambassador Bridge will have restricted traffic from the hours of 5:45 AM to 9:00 AM.
- The Detroit-Windsor Tunnel will close between the hours of 6:45 AM to 10:00 AM.
- The Lodge will begin to close around 3:00 AM at the I-75 Interchange.
Detroit-Windsor Tunnel Bus
The City Of Windsor offers a Tunnel Bus service that will be active on Sunday, October 15. The Tunnel Bus departs from the Windsor Bus Terminal at 5:30am and 5:45am and drops riders off at COBO Center. Return trips from COBO Center are at 11:00am and 2:00pm. Riders will need appropriate travel documentation for crossing international borders. More information about this service can be found online here.
