Road Construction

There are several construction projects in progress along the course, notably at the bridges over the Dequindre Cut at E. Lafayette (13.5 mile mark) and E. Larned (1.6 mile mark- 5k course), and along Atwater St (24.5 mile mark). All projects are scheduled to complete before race weekend. In the event they do not, we have detours planned and ready to go. Stay tuned to our website, and the Facebook and Twitter accounts for updates.

Half Marathon Change

This year we have decided to combine the “Non-Competitive Walk” segment of the Half Marathon with the Half Marathon Run. This division is now be renamed the “Half Marathon Run/Walk.”

Please be assured, we are not eliminating walkers from the half marathon. We are only eliminating the separate title and age group awards for the non-competitive event. The competitive full marathon and half marathon walks remain unchanged.

This joint designation also allows for those participants wishing to alternate walking and running the half marathon distance.

It should further be noted that entry fees, packet pickup and time requirements remain the same for both the run/walk and walk-only divisions of the half marathon.

Rules of Fair Play

We conduct our events under USA Track & Field (USATF) guidelines. We will use a qualified referee to help us settle any results concerns. We may exclude from competition anyone who has previously discredited themselves and the sport of running, or we may disqualify anyone who knowingly exhibits unsportsmanlike conduct.
