International Waiver
Participants of the Full Marathon, international half-marathon, and relay legs 1 & 2 must agree to the following waiver before They can begin the registration process. No exceptions.
I recognize that this is an international event, and that If I am in an event that crosses the U.S./Canadian border, and I am 16 years of age or older on or before race day, I will need a passport, passport card or enhanced drivers license (“EDL”). U.S. and Canadian children participating in the 5-Person Relay ONLY under the age of 16 will be able to present the original or a copy of their birth certificate or other proof of U.S. citizenship such as a naturalization or citizenship card.
All entries are submitted to the Bureau of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (“CBP”) and Canadian Border Services, for clearance before the race. ALL participants must show up in person at the Health & Fitness Expo, and present a passport or enhanced drivers license in order to pick up race packets.
If I am not a citizen of the U.S. or Canada, other documentation may be needed.
If I am running only on U.S. soil (U.S.-Only Half-Marathon, Relay Legs 3-5 and the 5K), I need only present photo identification when picking up my packet.
I recognize that if I am registered for an international event and do not have proper documentation, I will not be able to participate and will receive no refund.
I acknowledge the possibility of my inadmissibility to Canada. I acknowledge that, in order to enter Canada, I may need to obtain Approval of Rehabilitation or a Temporary Resident Permit at a Canadian Consulate or Embassy. If I am considered inadmissible to Canada, I will not be able to participate and will receive no refund.
If for any reason (for example, emergency, carrying backpack) I am asked by CBP to identify myself when crossing the border, I will be expected to present proper identification (passport or EDL). I acknowledge that CBP actions may delay my re-entry into the U.S. Please note, it is not the intention of CBP to actively or randomly pull runners out of the race to review their documentation.
