Most of the below information is for the 2022 5K. The 2023 approach will be similar, so we’re keeping the 2022 information live for context. But please check back for updates as registration opens and the marathon weekend approaches.

Registration for 2023 events begins at 12:01 a.m. Jan. 1. Register here.  Ensure lowest prices by registering early!

Location

The 2022 course is on and near the east Detroit riverfront.

Important note: Due to unforeseen construction on the course, 5k races has been redesigned from the originally announced route. The new route has been USATF certified, and the correct course map is below.

All Saturday races will now share the same start/finish lines, which will be on Atwater St. between Rivard St. and Riopelle St.

Parking

We encourage you to arrive early to have enough time to park and head to the start line. If you’re looking for parking nearby, please check out garages near the Renaissance Center or street lots west of Rivard St. If you’re using street parking near the course, please make sure you’re not parking on the course, otherwise your vehicle will be towed. Greektown and the Financial District are also popular areas for parking, and a nice walk down to the riverfront.

More details

There will be two waves: runners and walkers. Walkers will line up behind the runners and will start 5 minutes after the first wave of runners. This is for the safety and happiness of all participants!

Runners and walkers of any age and/or ability are welcome to participate in the celebration of fun and fitness. To protect the safety of all participants,  strollers, bicycles, rollerblades and skateboards are not permitted in any of our events, including the 5K.
