Detroit Free Press Marathon Sellout Guidelines

Guidelines for waitlist entries following the sellout of the Detroit Free Press Marathon events.

Waitlist for Entry

The Waitlists will open on January 14th at 12:00PM EST.

Waitlist Races:

• The Detroit Free Press Marathon will launch only two (2) waitlists, one for the Marathon and one for the International Half-Marathon.

Waitlist Management:

• The waitlist order will be published on the official race website. The ordered list will show the confirmation number of your waitlist registration.
  • Marathon Waitlist Order
  • International Half-Marathon Waitlist Order
• Entries will be processed if spots become available.
• The race will send an email notification to the next participants on the waitlist letting them know they are next in line. This email will provide additional instructions to participants.
• Participants will have until the next processing date to cancel their spot in line.
• If no action is taken to cancel a participant’s position, they will be processed automatically when a race entry becomes available, and their credit card will be charged for the race entry fee, including the processing fee. The $5 waitlist fee will be credited against the total fee for entry.
• Processing will continue until the International registration deadline of September 8.
