We’re returning to an international race after a two-year absence due to COVID-19. This will include the traditional border crossings via the Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel.
A significantly updated route through greater downtown Detroit, including passage through District Detroit, Midtown and Woodbridge.
The addition of Eastern Market to the course for the first time in the race’s history, including a run down Russell Street.
The new inclusion of the Dequindre Cut, the popular greenway that connects Eastern Market and the eastern Detroit Riverfront.
A new finish line on Woodward Avenue at the foot of Campus Martius. Post-race activities, including the Conquered afterparty, will be held at Campus Martius and the adjoining Cadillac Square.

Held at downtown Detroit’s Huntington Place, the Health & Fitness Expo will feature exhibitors offering 2022 marathon merchandise and the latest running footwear, apparel, nutrition, technology and much more. It’s also where participants will pick up their race packets. It’s free and open to the public.

The Temptation: 1-Mile + 5K
The Wonder: 1-Mile + 5K + International Half-Marathon
The Supreme: 1-Mile + 5K + Marathon

This is the perfect event to get youngsters excited about running and fitness. All participants must be between the ages of 4-12, and one parent or guardian can accompany a child along the course. Check back soon for the exact location. Sat., Oct. 15.

Plus, we’ve added signature Detroit features like the Woodbridge neighborhood, the District Detroit, Eastern Market, the Dequindre Cut and a finish line at the foot of Campus Martius. Sun., Oct. 16.
Competitors in our wheelchair and handcycle divisions in 2022 will experience the most exciting updates to our Marathon course in years. First, we’re back to an international route after a two-year pause. Plus, we’ve added signature Detroit features like the Woodbridge neighborhood, the District Detroit, Eastern Market, the Dequindre Cut and a finish line at the foot of Campus Martius. Sun., Oct. 16.
The 13.1-mile U.S.-Only Half-Marathon will showcase some of the best that Detroit has to offer, including a route through traveling through Downtown, the District Detroit, Midtown, Woodbridge, Eastern Market and the Dequindre Cut. Racers will finish at the foot of Campus Martius. Sun., Oct. 16.
This is our most popular event by number of racers, and we’re super excited to be headed back to Canada after a two-year absence. The course will include trips across the Ambassador Bridge and through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel, plus a route moving through Downtown and Midtown Detroit. Things wrap up at the foot of Campus Martius. Sun., Oct. 16.
Teams of two to five people can compete in the Marathon Relay, which covers the full 26.2 – our most exciting new course in years. Teams can be all male, all female or mixed. Highlights of the run will include the return to international racing, and the addition of Eastern Market, the Dequindre Cut, Campus Martius and more. Sun., Oct. 16.
